To "protect the female category," the 2024 Paris Olympics banned transgender and high-testosterone females from Track and Field events. Nike will host separate inclusive events in Paris for them.

Halba Diouf, a transgender athlete from France, trained for the 200-meter race but her gender transition, recognized by French authorities in 2021, impacts her eligibility for the upcoming summer games.

At the 2021 Olympics, South Africa's Semenya was barred from the 800m.

Namibia's Mboma was prevented from running the 400m, and switched to the 200m, winning silver.

The new rules could end Francine Niyonsaba's career, who finished runner-up to Semenya in the 800m at the 2016 Olympics.

Limited-edition trading cards, used as tickets to attend new events, depict the athletes' names and competitions they have been banned from.

The event will happen at the same time as the Olympic races and will be shown live. Each athlete will run their own race so their performances are compared to the Olympic competitors.
